The California Cultural Collections Protection Survey Project
The California State Library has commissioned The Institute for Learning Innovation (ILI) along with our partners to oversee and implement a Comprehensive Cultural Heritage Survey to provide the state insight into the cultural assets held by California’s museums, libraries, archives, galleries, and private collections. The long-term goals of this project are to inform the creation of a robust protection and sharing program and support informed statewide policy decisions, as well as to lay the foundation for the eventual creation of an online Cultural Heritage Census directory. Working closely with our partners – Mission Consulting and Lord Cultural Resources – we bring shared expertise and experience to all aspects of this project. This important work aligns with our organizational mission and further advances our mandate to ensure a broad audience of citizens, students and researchers have wide access to these valuable resources.
