Allison Hu

Independent Contract: Field Research Coordinator

Based in San Ramon, California, Allison Hu is the Independent Contract Field Research Coordinator at the Institute for Learning Innovation. Allison graduated from The University of California, Santa Cruz where she studied cognitive science and environmental studies and developed skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods. She has worked on projects studying parent-child interaction, human-robot interaction, and gender development in informal learning environments including museums and in the home. She holds experience teaching at a marine discovery museum using Next Generation Science Standards to K-12 youth in the Monterey Bay Area.
Allison is supporting ILI on the Cultivating Science Project which examines the free-choice learning networks of urban gardeners in Alameda County to advance informal STEM learning.
Allison’s favorite free-choice learning activities include cooking and developing vegan recipes and enjoying a variety of activities in nature.
