In partnership with TERC, the Institute for Learning Innovation is hosting the NSF-funded Math in the Making workshop at the New York Hall of Science this week, April 30 and 31. The workshop will convene researchers and practitioners in out-of-school mathematics and making to advance the field’s understanding of how to highlight and enhance the math in making experiences, develop tools and resources for informal educators, and foster collaborations for future efforts.
Although invitations for the workshop have been finalized, you can learn more about the project online (http://www.informalscience.org/cimble-conference-integrating-math-informal-building-learning-environments-math-making) and you can follow events and discussions through twitter, #MathMaking2016. If you are interested in connecting with the project, receiving post-workshop resources, or participating in future events, please email: MathInTheMaking@terc.edu.
