International Conference: The Integration of Science Centres with Natural History Museums for Imparting Informal Education

The 1st Integration of Science Centres with Natural History Museums for Imparting Informal Education International Conference was held October 4-6, 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This 2.5 day working meeting convened a small group of high level informal education practitioners and ministerial-level policy makers from across South and Southeast Asia and the United States to explore the potential of integrating key assets and affordances of science centres and natural history museums into a new model for supporting the public’s science education through the use of informal/free-choice learning assets in the 21st century. A total of 40 participants, 4 individuals per country, from the following ten countries: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the United States participated in the conference.
