ILI Joins LEAP into Science National Scale-Up Project

ILI is excited to join the next phase of Leap Into Science as a research partner, investigating how community events that combine literacy and science spark and sustain interest pathways for young children and their families. Leap into Science is a nationwide program, led by the Franklin Institute, that integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books in order to engage children (ages 3-10) and their families. The program empowers educators to offer programs in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage underserved audiences in accessible and familiar settings. With funding from the National Science Foundation, the project is scaling nationally through a train-the-trainer model. The project is looking for teams of 2-3 institutions to apply as partners to collaboratively disseminate the program in rural and urban areas of their states.
